General Education Development
The General Education Development (GED®) is a combination of four (4) individual subject tests: (Language, Math, Social Studies and Science). Tests are offered in English and Spanish.
The cost to retest is $30.00 per test. You must have State or Federal issued picture I.D. to test. (Driver’s License, State I.D., Passport, Military I.D.)

You can register to start the GED® test by going to www.ged.com. You can pay and make your appointments on this website.
The cost to take the GED® is $120.00, you can split it up and pay individual at $30.00 per test.
- You must have State or Federal issued picture I.D. to test. (Driver’s License, State I.D., Passport, Military I.D.)
- The GED® test takes approximately four (4) - seven (7) hours to complete. This does not include breaks
How the GED® is Scored
You must complete the battery of four (4) subject tests. To pass the GED® you must score at least 150, out of 200, on each of the four (4) subject tests AND have a toal of 600 or above on all 4 tests. A Utah High School Completion Diploma is awarded upon successful completion of the GED® Test. If any one (1) of your scores is below 150 you will need to retest on that test.
